InBody 580 body composition + FDA-cleared Breezing Med RMR

Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment in Roseville, MN — the facts

  • What it is: body composition and resting metabolism measured in the same visit, then read together by a clinician.
  • Price: $195. Booked separately, the InBody is $45 and the RMR is $165.
  • Appointment: 40 minutes.
  • Measured: Breezing Med RMR with resting RQ · InBody 580 body composition, including segmental lean mass, ECW/TBW fluid balance and phase angle · blood pressure · grip strength · height.
  • What you get: an integrated clinician read across all of the measures — not each number in isolation — and a designed 2–3 page written report to keep, share with your physician, or use as a baseline.
  • Preparation: no food, caffeine or exercise within four hours. No alcohol the day before. No nicotine before the test. Remove shoes, socks and jewellery from hands and feet for the scan.
  • Access: open to the public. No referral required. Book online.
  • If you have an implanted cardiac device: current guidelines advise against bioelectrical impedance testing for anyone with a pacemaker, implantable defibrillator (ICD) or cardiac resynchronisation device, so the InBody portion is not appropriate. The RMR test is unaffected. Please tell us before you book.
  • Where: Rosedale Tower, 1700 West Highway 36, Suite #400, Roseville, MN 55113.
  • Not included: bloodwork. If your history points to labs, the Metabolic Snapshot ($595) reviews selected blood markers and is a separate decision.

What is the Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment?

The Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment is Twin Cities Metabolism’s fastest in-depth read of your metabolism: an InBody 580 body-composition scan, a Breezing Med resting-metabolic-rate test, and a brief overview of your results with Dr. Jared Larsen (LN, CNS, DC, MS) — all in one 40-minute visit. Both tests are clinical-grade: InBody’s multi-frequency BIA has been compared with DEXA in published validation studies, and Breezing Med is FDA-cleared indirect calorimetry, the clinical standard for measuring metabolic rate. You leave with a written report you keep — uploadable to your chart, printable on request.

The full clinical workup with a written treatment plan is the Metabolic Blueprint. This is the in-depth metabolic-rate-and-body-composition read, not the full-case workup.

Open to the public — no referral required, no established patient relationship required. Total fee: $195.

What’s in the $195 Comprehensive Assessment

Two tests, additional measurements, one clinical conversation.

The InBody scan measures body composition. The RMR breath test measures resting metabolism. Dr Jared interprets the results together and explains what they may mean for your next steps. The Comprehensive Assessment bundles all three into a single 40-minute visit — with a report you keep (printable on request).

PART 1

InBody Scan

~30 sec · standalone $45

What you get: body composition and visceral fat; phase angle as an indicator of cellular health; ECW/TBW for hydration and inflammation-related fluid patterns; and segmental lean-mass balance across the arms, legs and trunk. Every InBody visit also includes blood pressure, grip strength and height.

+

PART 2

RMR Test

About 20-minute test · 30-minute standalone appointment · $165 standalone

What you get: your actual resting metabolic rate, measured by Breezing Med breath test — not estimated from a formula.

BUNDLE

Comprehensive Assessment

~40 min · $195

What you walk out with: both tests, plus Dr Jared’s analysis and a written report you keep. At $195, the Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment saves $15 versus booking the $45 InBody and $165 RMR separately — and includes the integrated clinician interpretation and written report.

No referral required. HSA/FSA eligible. The lowest-risk way to meet the clinician. Open to the public.

Body composition (fat, muscle, water)

The integrated picture is the point. Knowing your body composition without knowing your metabolic rate is like knowing your car’s weight without knowing its horsepower. The two numbers together tell a story neither one tells alone.

What’s included.

Three things. One visit. No fine print.

InBody Touch tablet

InBody 580 Body Composition Scan

Clinical-grade body composition. Muscle, fat, water, segmental analysis. About 10 minutes start to finish — the scan itself takes 30 seconds.

Breezing Med RMR device

Breezing Med Resting Metabolic Rate

FDA-cleared indirect calorimetry. Tells us exactly how many calories your body burns at rest. About 20 minutes total, including preparation and rest followed by approximately 10 minutes of relaxed breathing.

Sample CMA digital report

Brief Overview + Detailed Digital Report

After the tests, Dr Jared briefly walks through your results with you. You also leave with a written report — designed for a non-clinician to read, with an interpretation of your numbers and direction on what to consider for diet and exercise.

You leave knowing what your numbers mean.

Most body comp scans end with a printout. Yours ends with an explanation, backed by an interpretive report you keep.

Your Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment report is 2–3 pages, written for you to actually understand. It includes your InBody numbers — body fat percentage, lean mass, visceral fat, segmental balance — with what they mean and where you sit relative to where you want to be. It includes your RMR number — your metabolic engine speed at rest — with what it tells us about your metabolism today. And it includes a short interpretation from Dr Jared highlighting what stood out and a brief direction on what to consider for diet and exercise based on your numbers. The report is delivered as a digital document you can upload to your chart, and you can print it any time.

Sample report — illustrative. Your report reflects your own results. The clinician summary is typically 2–3 pages; supporting device-output pages, like the InBody scan, may add pages to the complete packet.

Your CMA also includes your full InBody 580 body-composition result.

What it’s like.

Step by step. About 40 minutes from arrival to walking out with answers.

1

Arrive at the clinic.

Easy parking. Warm reception. We’re located in Roseville, Minnesota.

2

InBody Scan (about 30 seconds).

You stand on the device, hold the handles, breathe normally.

3

RMR test (about 10 minutes of relaxed breathing).

After preparation and rest, you sit comfortably and breathe through a single-use mask. No talking, no movement — just relaxed breathing. The Breezing Med reads how much oxygen you’re consuming and calculates your resting metabolic rate.

4

Clinical analysis.

We sit down, look at your numbers together, and we highlight what’s notable. About 10 minutes with Dr Jared.

5

Leave knowing where you stand.

You walk out with clear answers, not a stack of numbers to decode. Your digital report is ready before you leave — the record of everything you learned, uploadable to your chart or printable on request.

Dr. Jared Larsen

Who reads your results.

Dr. Jared Larsen, LN, CNS, DC, MS

Licensed Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition. Dr Jared has built his practice around one problem: metabolisms that don’t behave the way the calculators say they should. Every CMA overview is with him personally — and if your numbers point to something measurement alone can’t answer, he’ll tell you what he’d look at next.

$195. Everything above. No surprise charges.

Body composition + measured metabolic rate + the clinician read-through + your report to keep.

What the CMA shows you — and what it can’t

The Comprehensive Assessment is your measurement layer — real numbers on where your body composition and metabolism stand right now. For many people that’s exactly what they needed, and stopping here is a perfectly good place to be.

But measurement shows what is happening — not always why. If your numbers raise questions, the next step is the Metabolic Blueprint: the whole-system layer that looks deeper at gut, hormones, thyroid, blood sugar, and inflammation — and your CMA findings carry straight into it, so nothing is repeated or wasted.

What patients say.

Real answers after 19 years of searching.

“I have been ill for the last 19 years and always seeking ways to improve my health. … The test panel was extensive and gave us real answers. We are currently working on correcting and improving my overall health.”

— John B., Google review

He helps you understand how YOUR body works.

“Jared’s knowledge is mind-blowing and he isn’t trying to sell you on any cookie-cutter products or packages or workout routines, he is helping you understand how YOUR body works… A test result may look normal to your normal doctor, but Jared can look at the ranges within the normal ranges and help you understand how YOUR body is working.”

— Tammy B., Google review

Individual results vary.

Things people ask before booking.

Do I need to be a patient at TCM?

No. The CMA is open to the public. No referral, no established patient relationship required.

Can I be pregnant or have a pacemaker?

The InBody portion is not safe for patients with implanted electronic devices (pacemakers, ICDs, etc.) and is not recommended during pregnancy. If either applies, we’d recommend the RMR alone or starting with a quick conversation to discuss alternatives.

How should I prepare?

No food, caffeine, or exercise within 4 hours of your visit. No alcohol the day before. No nicotine before the test. Hydrate normally. Wear something comfortable.

Can I do this and then decide later if I want a Blueprint?

Absolutely. The CMA is a complete standalone product. Many patients use it to gather a baseline and don’t pursue deeper testing right away. The Blueprint is always an option if and when you want it.

What if my RMR comes back lower than expected?

That can be a useful finding. A lower-than-expected RMR may reflect several factors, so Dr Jared will put the result in context, explain what it may indicate, and discuss practical next steps.

Can I do this remotely?

No — both tests require in-clinic equipment. The CMA is in-person only.
