THE METABOLIC BLUEPRINT

A functional medicine workup that maps what’s actually happening — and how it’s all connected.

Gut. Thyroid. Cortisol rhythm. Sex hormones. Inflammation. Blood sugar. Instead of chasing them one at a time, the Blueprint evaluates them together — along with microbiome and intestinal-permeability testing — and turns the findings into a prioritized plan. Test. Don’t guess.

The Metabolic Blueprint — the facts

  • What it is: a clinician-led functional medicine workup. Four advanced laboratory panels are ordered together, read together, and turned into one written plan with the priorities ranked.
  • Price: $1,345 for the full workup — all four panels, test coordination, the 60-minute Lab Review, the written report and a printed copy.
  • What is tested: about 200 biomarkers across four panels — expanded blood chemistry (~95 markers), GI-MAP stool DNA (~80 targets), DUTCH Complete (~35 hormone metabolites and cortisol rhythm), and a timed intestinal-permeability test.
  • Lab Review: 60 minutes with Dr Jared, never delegated. The first half covers what the labs show; the second half covers what to do about it.
  • What you get: a written Blueprint report that ranks what deserves attention first, a provider-ready summary you can hand to another clinician, and a printed reference copy.
  • Timing: most specialty panels take about two to three weeks after the laboratory receives the sample.
  • Access: open to the public. No referral required. A free consultation comes first — the Blueprint is not a self-checkout product, and the exact markers are set before anything is ordered.
  • Availability: Nationwide — your testing is confirmed at your consultation before anything is ordered. The Metabolic Blueprint begins with a free consultation and is not available for direct online booking.
  • What it does not include: resting metabolic rate and body composition are not part of the Blueprint. Those are the $165 RMR test and the $45 InBody 580 scan — or both together in the $195 Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment.
  • Payment: pay in full, or split into two payments 14 days apart, or three payments — one today, one at two weeks, one at four weeks. No interest and no added fees. HSA and FSA funds accepted.
  • Where: Twin Cities Metabolism, Rosedale Tower, 1700 West Highway 36, Suite #400, Roseville, MN 55113.

Why a full Blueprint — not just one test.

Symptoms such as fatigue, stalled weight, cycle changes, bloating, food reactions and energy swings can overlap across several systems. One test may provide one piece. The Blueprint evaluates blood, hormones, gut, intestinal permeability and body composition together to identify patterns that may help explain what you are experiencing and what deserves attention first.

Who this is right for.

Most people who land here have been telling someone — a doctor, a coach, themselves — that something isn’t right. The Blueprint is for the moment you decide to find out.

If you’ve been told

You have been told your routine labs look fine, but you still do not feel fine. The Blueprint adds measurements and specialty panels that are not typically part of routine primary-care bloodwork, then interprets them together.

If you’re stuck on

Stalled weight loss, fatigue that won’t lift, cycles that are off, bloating or food reactions, blood pressure or blood sugar creeping up, mood and energy crashes — symptoms that overlap and never get clearly explained. The Blueprint helps organize the overlapping patterns and identify which ones deserve attention first.

If you’ve tried

Diet after diet, supplement after supplement, hoping something would work — and never sure why nothing stuck. The Blueprint gives you measured priorities instead of another round of trial and error.

If you’re considering

The Reset — and want to see what your physiology is actually doing before committing to a six-month program. Many Blueprint patients move forward into The Reset. The Blueprint is how they decide.

On a GLP-1 — or thinking about one? The Blueprint evaluates body composition and metabolic patterns that matter while you are using a GLP-1, so you and your prescriber have more information for muscle preservation and longer-term planning. More on working with GLP-1s.
In perimenopause or menopause? The Blueprint measures hormone, thyroid, gut and blood-sugar patterns, so you see the current patterns as measured — not assumed. If hormone replacement is the right call, we work alongside your prescribing clinician — we don’t replace them. More on perimenopause & menopause.

Dr. Jared Larsen

Who reads your labs.

Dr. Jared Larsen, LN, CNS, DC, MS

Licensed Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition. Dr Jared has built his practice around one problem: metabolisms that don’t behave the way the calculators say they should. Every Blueprint Lab Review is with him personally — and if your labs point to something testing alone can’t answer, he’ll tell you what he’d look at next.

What gets ordered.

Four advanced laboratory tests give us a connected view of metabolism, hormones, gut, intestinal permeability and inflammation. The four test types are standard; the exact blood markers and any clinically appropriate add-ons are tailored to your case.

“How is my body actually working?”

An expanded blood panel assessing metabolic, thyroid, inflammatory, nutrient, lipid and blood-sugar markers beyond many routine screening panels.

“What are my hormones actually doing?”

A multi-point urine hormone-metabolite profile (DUTCH) collected at home over one day, including cortisol rhythm and sex-hormone metabolites.

“What’s living in my gut?”

A qPCR stool panel detecting DNA targets related to commensal organisms, opportunistic organisms, pathogens, digestive function and intestinal inflammation.

“Is my gut lining holding up?”

Intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”) — a timed urine test used to assess intestinal-permeability patterns after consuming a test solution.

Why this goes beyond a conventional workup.

Routine medical care and the Blueprint do different jobs. Primary care is essential for preventive screening, diagnosis, medication management and medical treatment. The Blueprint is a cash-pay functional-medicine workup designed to integrate specialty testing and body-composition data into a prioritized nutrition and lifestyle plan.

What you walk away with.

You leave with a prioritized interpretation of the patterns found across the testing, what they may help explain, and what to address first. The written Blueprint organizes the findings and next steps in plain language.

You walk away with a focused, readable Blueprint report that organizes the findings, priorities and next steps. Yours to keep, share with your physician and use as a baseline going forward.

A clear process while your labs are running.

Most specialty panels take approximately two to three weeks after the laboratory receives the sample. Total timing varies with kit shipping, collection, laboratory processing and scheduling the Lab Review. We keep you updated as each result arrives, so you know what is complete and what is still pending.

How you stay informed

Each lab is uploaded to your chart and emailed to you as it arrives. We send a “your test is back, waiting on the others” update each time. When everything’s in, we send the booking link for your Lab Review. You can look at the raw labs ahead of the appointment if you want — but you don’t have to understand them yet. That’s what the appointment is for.

What changes for you.

The point of the Blueprint isn’t the labs. It’s what the labs let you finally do.

Clarity instead of guessing

You see which measured patterns stand out and how they may relate to what you have been experiencing.

A ranked plan, built from your results

What deserves attention first, what comes next and what can be left alone for now.

Confidence to choose a path

The Reset, or taking the findings forward on your own.

A useful baseline

The Blueprint remains a reference point, although biology changes and future decisions may require updated testing.

Already measured? Here’s your next step.

If you completed an InBody scan, you already have body-composition data. If you completed the Comprehensive Metabolic Assessment, you also have a measured RMR and resting fuel-use result. The Metabolic Blueprint adds blood, hormone, stool and intestinal-permeability testing to investigate factors that may help explain those earlier measurements.

RMR is not included in the Metabolic Blueprint.

What your Blueprint includes
About 200 biomarkers across four advanced laboratory tests.
  • Expanded blood chemistry — approximately 95 markers across metabolic, thyroid, inflammatory, iron, lipid, nutrient, and blood-sugar patterns.
  • GI-MAP — approximately 80 DNA targets assessing microbial balance, digestion, and intestinal immune markers.
  • DUTCH Complete — approximately 35 markers mapping hormone metabolites and cortisol rhythm across the day.
  • Intestinal-permeability testing — a timed assessment of absorption and intestinal-barrier patterns.
  • 60-minute Lab Review with Dr Jared — connects all four panels with your history and explains what deserves attention first.
  • Written Blueprint report — organizes your measured findings, clinical interpretation, and priorities into one reference you keep.

Also included: a provider-ready summary you can share with another clinician and a printed reference copy.

Four panels produce separate measurements. The Blueprint connects them into one prioritized view of what the data shows, how the findings relate, and what deserves attention next.

For local patients, an InBody 580 scan may be recommended when body-composition data would add useful context. It is a separate service and is not required to complete the Metabolic Blueprint.

THE INVESTMENT

$1,345 for the full Blueprint workup.

The standard Metabolic Blueprint package is $1,345. It includes all four advanced lab panels, test coordination, the 60-minute Lab Review, the written Blueprint report, and a printed copy for in-office reviews.

Your exact quote is confirmed during the free consultation before anything is ordered. If recent primary-care bloodwork can be used, we remove the duplicated blood testing from your quote.

Not sure you need testing this broad? The Metabolic Snapshot answers a narrower question — what does my bloodwork show — with a fixed 31-test lab panel and a 30-minute Lab Review, for $595. The Blueprint is the right choice when the question is whether gut, hormone-metabolite or intestinal-permeability testing is warranted.

Payment options

Pay in full, or split the total into two payments 14 days apart, or three payments — one today, one at two weeks and one at four weeks. No interest or additional fees.

Many patients use HSA or FSA funds for most or all of the Metabolic Blueprint, including clinical review and laboratory testing. We provide itemized receipts, and FSA administrators may request additional documentation.

What you do with your Blueprint is your call.

After the Lab Review, we lay out the options. No pressure. Many patients choose The Reset when they want structured implementation and follow-up. Others implement the plan independently, take the findings to another clinician or act on the priorities independently. Some come back months or years later when they’re ready. All of those are reasonable.

It’s a real assessment. Sometimes the labs come back surprisingly clean and the answer is “you’re doing well — here are a few areas of cleanup.” We tell you what we see.

What patients say.

What patients say after seeing the pieces together.

“Hormone imbalance was the culprit to a plethora of issues. Things that had been un-diagnosed, missed or not even tested for by MN Gastro, U of M, Mayo Clinic (everywhere!) were uncovered. It’s been six months and I feel fantastic!”

— Nina Z., Google review

More answers in a couple months than ever in the traditional doctor’s office.

“Dr Jared is great. If you’ve been struggling and need answers and a Dr. that listens, this is the place for you. I was so sick of the traditional system, I want getting help or answers. I also was really interested in getting a Dutch test, which other dr offices won’t offer and Dr Jared does. Along with other valuable tests. I received more answers/help and progress in a couple months here than ever in the traditional dr office setting.”

— Nichole E., Google review

Individual results vary.

Frequently asked.

How long does this take?

Most specialty panels take approximately two to three weeks after the laboratory receives the sample. Total timing varies with kit shipping, collection, laboratory processing and scheduling the Lab Review. We keep you updated as each result arrives.

Do I need to be a patient to order a Blueprint?

You need a free consultation first. The Blueprint is not a self-checkout product. Dr Jared reviews your history, confirms whether the Blueprint is appropriate, and determines the exact blood markers and any clinically appropriate add-ons before testing is ordered.

What if I already have recent labs from my primary care doctor?

We review recent primary-care bloodwork during the consultation. When clinically appropriate results can be used, we order only what is missing and remove duplicated blood testing from the quote.

Why is this $1,345 when I can get “wellness panels” online for $99?

The Blueprint is a different service. It combines four advanced laboratory panels, test selection and coordination, a written integrated report, and a live 60-minute Lab Review with Dr Jared. Online blood-testing services may be useful for broad monitoring, but they do not provide this same combination of specialty gut and hormone testing with a live integrated review.

What if my Blueprint says I don’t need an ongoing program?

That is a valid outcome. Sometimes the findings point to a limited set of priorities rather than a comprehensive ongoing program. We work with what the data supports.

Can I do a Blueprint and not enroll in The Reset?

Your Blueprint stands on its own. After the Lab Review, you can implement the plan independently; continuing into The Reset is optional.

Are the panels reimbursable by insurance?

Insurance coverage varies. Most specialty functional-medicine panels are not typically covered. We provide itemized receipts, and HSA and FSA funds are generally eligible.
